Many parents are concerned about the violent computer games or movies or leisure activities. How can this impact children ? What can be done to solve this problem

Many
children
today are exposed to violent computer
games
,
movies
and leisure activities. It makes their
parents
anxious since they may have unwanted effects if their kids become more and more violent.
According to
statistics, there is a relationship between media exposure and thoughts, feelings and behaviours in viewers, especially
children
. Those
children
who spend most of their time in front of electronic devices playing brutal video
games
or watching these kinds of films may become vicious or even frightening other people with their behaviour. The negative effect are more serious with sensitive adolescents, they will have an antisocial mentality because they lose the ability to distinguish real life from virtual life. To illustrate,in a study of 37 targeted school shootings between 1974 and 2000, most of the causes of attacks are from
games
,
movies
, leisure activities, or other media that have violent factors. Despite these negative aspects,
parents
still can find solutions to
this
problem and help their
children
’s growth.
Parents
must control what their kids play or watch.
Instead
of leaving their
children
alone with a computer or a smartphone, teenagers and
parents
should watch useful educational programs together.
Furthermore
,
children
should be encouraged to read books, play sports or help their mother/father with housework after school. And
as a result
, adolescents can stay away from toxic
games
and
movies
and
also
widen their knowledge. In conclusion, violent media including
games
and
movies
has a harmful effect on those who are exposed to it. to solve
this
issue,
parents
must
also
keep a close watch on their kids and motivate them to participate in activities that will improve their knowledge to learn.
