The stages of the silkworm's life are depicted in the upper image. The fly first produces eggs, which after 10 days develop into larvae. The worms start building a nest out of silk thread in another four to six weeks. The second graphic then

The cocoons are originally chosen and placed into scalding hot water, as shown in the picture. They can be unwound into 300–900 meter-long threads after being boiled.
