The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
The bar chart displays some data about the physical activities of different
age
groups in a country in 2010. Generally speaking, almost half of the people in all
age
brackets in Australia, were physically active.
In addition
, the highest
proportion
of participants belonged to middle-aged women, whilst the least was for men between the ages of 35 to 44. Young males at the ages of 15 to 24 were more active rather than females, 52.8% and 47.7%
accordingly
.
Then
the percentage of men’s participation decreased dramatically to 39.5% among 35 to 44 years old people.
After
this
fall, the
proportion
of those males who exercised regularly rose steadily as their
age
went up and reached 46.7 per cent at the highest
age
group. With regard to women, only 47.7% of them were exercising
while
they were young.
Then
, the
proportion
of participants in regular exercise increased rapidly and peaked at 53.3% between the ages of 45 to 54. Despite all these fluctuations, the
proportion
of those who had routine exercise accounted for a nearly similar percentage in the highest
age
group.
