The pie charts below show units of electricity production by fuel source in Australia and France in 1980 and 2000
The charts compare the amount of electricity produced using five different sources of
fuel
in two countries in separate years.
It is clear that
the total production of electricity increased remarkably from 1980 to 2000 in
Australia
and
France
.
Although
the total was similar, there were big differences in using the
power
. Looking at the picture in more detail, we can see that coal was the main
fuel
used to produce 50 of the total 100
units
in 1980, before rising to 130 out of 180
units
in the year 2000 in
Australia
.
In contrast
, nuclear
power
was the most important
fuel
in
France
in 2000, which accounted for 75% of the total. When it comes to three sources of energy, it is obvious that Hydro
Power
made up about 25% of the total production of
fuel
in
Australia
, but it decreased significantly from 5 to 2
units
in
France
.
On the other hand
, Oil remained the necessary
power
in
France
, but its use dropped by 8
units
in
Australia
.
Additionally
, both countries depended on natural gas to produce electricity enormously more in 1980 than in 2000.
