35.Nowadays, more people move away from their friends and families for work. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

The trend of
people
relocating away from their friends and families for
work
has become popular in recent years.
This
tendency has both negative and positive implications. In
this
essay, both sides will be explored, followed by my opinion. On the one hand,
people
who live far away from their friends and
relatives
are more at risk induced by mental health problems.
This
is because physical distance may discourage them from confiding their troubles to their loved ones. It is often evident in the case of migrant workers who tend to keep their suffering for themselves just to prevent their
relatives
from worrying.
Therefore
, they are more vulnerable to mental issues, like depression
while
their
relatives
at home remain unaware. The situation can even get worse if these
people
are introverts who are likely to distance themselves from their new colleagues.
Additionally
, moving to a new place can be quite expensive, involving a range of costs, including transportation costs, housing and setting up a new home. These financial burdens may outweigh the financial benefits of a new job.
On the other hand
, it is of the opinion that
people
moving to new places for
work
can achieve career fulfilment. The proponents of
this
perspective argue that there are usually better employment prospects outside their hometown for
people
of working age. To be more specific, big cities and countries are always hubs of various industries which promise more career choices and significantly higher wages.
Thus
, it is far easier for employees to find a suitable job with good remuneration.
In addition
, living far away from families can help individuals, especially those who have just reached adulthood, advance their careers faster. Living with families can indeed trigger emotional problems because of family conflicts which can negatively affect young
people
's
work
performance. Without
this
potential disturbance, they can wholeheartedly devote themselves to their
work
and thrive. In conclusion, the question of whether the advantages of relocating away from friends and
relatives
for
work
outweigh the disadvantages is a subjective matter and depends on several factors, including an individual's career goals, personal priorities and support systems.
While
some can thrive in new environments and view the advantages more significant, others may find it more burdensome. It is essential to carefully consider these factors and weigh them against your own values and circumstances before making
such
a decision.

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 250 words in writing task 2. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long essay will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 260 to 290 words in writing task 2. This will ensure a concise essay and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 40 minutes to write the essay and you need around 10 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long essay in 30 minutes.
