It has been a common practice for the heads of big
organisations
to be awarded huge salaries as compared to their staff.
While
some people are in favour of
this
notion, there are others who think that
such
a treatment does not uphold equality in the workplace.
This
essay will discuss both perspectives and offer my point of view regarding
this
issue. On one hand, granting higher salaries to
directors
is justified because they bear broader and heavier responsibilities than their subordinates.
Directors
are appointed to lead and make tougher decisions for the companies. Most of their work is strategic in nature and affects the entire operations.
Therefore
, the consequences of their actions will determine the fate of an organisation, including the employees at lower levels. With
such
burdens, it is essential to compensate the leaders with a higher amount of benefit to ensure they possess consistent motivations to execute those tough jobs.
On the other hand
, many large institutions do not fairly pay their common workers as evidenced by the striking difference between the salary paid to them and to the top management. Despite a distinct degree of
