The two maps below show the village of Bunborough in the present day and plans for the village in 2024. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Bunborough
is presently a small fishing village
on the northern side of the river estuary. The maps in question compare present-day Bunborough
and outline the proposed changes that are due to
take place by the year 2024.
We can see that at present the village
of Bunborough
seems to be dependent on fishing as it is built around a small fishing port. The only transport connections are a single road
which connects to a main road
in the east of the map.
In the year 2024, there seem to be plans to focus on tourism and set the town up as a holiday destination. The fishing port is due to
close and in its place, a promenade will be built along the coast. The beach on the other side of the river will be connected by road
to Bunborough
and this
road
will be extended to the main road
in the east. The village
is also
due to
be connected by rail with a residential area being relocated to make way for a train station. The plans also
propose two new hotels, one located in front of the beach and the other next to the promenade. Other than these proposed changes, the existing shopping and residential areas are due to
remain the same.
Overall
, the planned changes see a village
based on fishing transform into one based on tourism, with new hotels and transport connections to link the beach and the village
to other areas.Submitted by Jasim Uddin Rahat on
