The pie charts illustrate the proportion of people arrested in the UK by gender between 2015 and 2020 and the bar graph demonstrates the different categories for their arrests.
Overall
, a larger share of males were arrested than females and public intoxication was the most common reason for both sexes. Starting with males, their rates of arrests accounted for 32% and 68% of them were not taken by police. Looking at the bar chart, public intoxication was by far the most common crime with slightly above 30%, followed by drunk driving with just over 20%.

, the proportions of both breaking and entering and other were below 20%, which were a little higher than those of assault and theft with approximately 15%. Turning to females, only 9% of them were arrested and 91% of them had no experience of being captured by authority. Like men, women
