A glance at the figure provided reveals information about the percentages of
unemployment
among graduates aged 20 to 24, in an unspecified European country from 2008 to 2009. The blue bars represent rates for men,
while
the orange bars indicate rates for
women
. It is evident from the information gathered that not only did the country experience less than 10% and 7%
unemployment
among males and females respectively in 2008 January, but it followed a declining trend to the end of the summer. Yet, the
unemployment
rate in the country climbed to more than 16% and 11% among males and females respectively from the beginning of autumn in 2008.
Although
unemployment
saw a slight fall for almost one year forward, again in October of 2009 it soared to more than 22% for men and 14% for
women
. Interesting to note is the fact that during the studied period,
women
were hired almost twice as much as men. So, the
unemployment
was lower among
women
.
