The bar graph shows the total number of
hours
of four different digital devices usage in America from 1980 to 2015: television, computer, radio, and smartphone It is notable that the radio had remarkably the highest percentage between 1980 and 1990. At the beginning of the period, its figure was over 300
hours
per month and increased to 380
hours
in 1990.
However
, it started to decrease dramatically from 1995, with a figure of 270
hours
per month. Meanwhile, the data shows clearly that the rest of the devices didn’t exceed even 100
hours
respectively until 1995. It is easily observed that the usage of computers skyrocketed substantially in 2000. It even doubled after 5 years, and it became the dominant digital device that people used the most since the second half of the part.
In addition
, smartphones appeared in 2000, those figures had a significant increase, with a figure of 350
hours
per month.
On the other hand
, radios became the lowest-consumed device in 2015.
Overall
,
it is clear that
computers and smartphones experienced notable increases in usage,
while
radios showed a considerable decline as time passed.
