The two pie charts below show total world energy consumption and electricity generation for last year.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

You should write at least 150 words.
A glance at the two pie charts provided reveals how much
electricity
the
world
consumed and generated
last
year. It is evident from the information given that fossil fuel was the major source of
power
on earth since
oil
, coal and gasoline accounted for the majority of both the
world
's
electricity
generation and
consumption
. Renewable energy, including hydro and nuclear
power
, was less common. Not surprisingly,
oil
, coal and gas were the main sources of the
world
's
electricity
;
as a result
, the total
consumption
of these energies accounted for 80% of the total. More than one-third of the
consumption
was sourced from
oil
, followed by coal and gas at 25.1% and 20.9% respectively. In stark contrast,
however
, the
electricity
supplied by
oil
and gas was less than the
demand
. One particularly interesting fact highlighted by the figures is that the supply of most renewable energy was more than the
demand
as the supply of hydropower (16.1%) was 8 times higher than its
demand
(2.2%),
whereas
the supply of nuclear
power
(15.7%) was doubled its
demand
(6.5%).
Conversely
,
although
10.6% of the
world
's energy
consumption
was coming from combustible renewables & waste
power
, there was no supply from that previous year.
