The maps below show a town centre in 1990 and the same town centre today. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant
The diagrams illustrate how a particular
town
centre
has been changed over a period of time from 1990.
In general, the town
has been renovated to provide more facilities for residents, albeit maintaining its structure. Notably, new zebra crossings are now available for pedestrians.
In 1990, to the north of the town
were 5 distinct shops, including Newsagent, Grocer, Baker, Butcher and Cafe, with a childcare centre
adjacent to the east. In the middle of the town
were a park, library and town
hall located, bordered by Newton, Smith, Oldfield, and Green Street. A row of housing was situated to the south, while
two separate banks were opposite to the east of the childcare centre
and town
hall.
At present, vehicles are banned from Smith Street, where residents can access the shopping mall, at the expense of 5 different shops. Except for these changes, the middle area and childcare centre
maintain their position, while
the bank opposite the town
hall has been demolished for a cafe shop. Houses have been upgraded into apartment blocks, with new crossing lines for pedestrians on Green and Oldfield Street.Submitted by kkhanhnhitr0801 on
