The circle diagram depicts the proportion of energy produced by different means in Spain in two different time frames (2008 and 2017).
Overall
, gas and oil contributed largely in both reference periods,
however
, renewable sources and nuclear power generation gained momentum in 2017 when compared to 2008. It is conspicuous from the pie chart that oil and gas remained a relatively stable source of energy in both 2008 and 2017. The use of oil dipped slightly from 27% in 2008 to 23% in 2017,
whereas
the proportion of gas rose by 1% in 2017 from 22% in the previous point. Usage of renewable sources has almost doubled from 9% in 2008. Energy production from nuclear power was surged by 6% during the 9 years. Another significant change was the under-usage of coal for power generation, where it nosedived to 17% from a quarter of all the sources. Other means have
also
two-folded in 2017 from 3% in 2008.
