You recently stayed at a hotel during a business trip. However, you were not satisfied with the service you received. Write a letter to the hotel manager explaining the issues. In your letter: • Describe the problems you faced. • Explain how these issues affected your stay. • Suggest what you would like the hotel to do.

--- **Dear Manager,** I am writing to express my disappointment with the meal and service during my recent visit to your restaurant. I had chosen your establishment to celebrate my graduation, having heard many praises about your cuisine. I invited my family and close friends, expecting a memorable experience. Unfortunately, despite making an early reservation, we had to wait for half an hour to be seated. The service was slow, and when the food

arrived, it was bland and

this
feedback seriously and improve your service. Yours faithfully, Opinderdeep Kaur ---

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
