, women globally have the highest amount of being illiterate compared to men. The number of illiterate women in South Asia, the Arab States and Sub-Saharan Africa is among the highest, which is over 50% for the first two regions and just below 50% for the latter. Men are as 20% lower than their counterparts in all of those areas ( around 30% ).
