The given chart delineates the expenses constituents, categorised into 3 main aspects, of UK citizens in 2004.
On the whole,
while
people seemed to spend more on Food and beverages when they got older, a similar pattern was seen in entertainment. In addition
, accommodation was relatively high in most surveyed individuals, with the exception of those over 61-75.
To begin
with, regarding those who were under 30 years old, Food and drinks accounted for only 5% of their total expense. However
, the figures seem to increase according to
age, with a value increment of 5% for every older group, up to 23% for the 76+. Meanwhile, the expenditure on Restaurants and hotels constituted 14% in most groups, except for the two oldest 61 and 75 years old (3%) and 76+ (8%).
With regard to entertainment, the two youngest groups share a similar proportion of around 7%. These percentages then
went up to almost 15% for the 46-60 and the 76+ age group. Last
but not least, the 61-75s appeared to be the most willing to spend on recreation, with that making up nearly a quarter of their total spending.Submitted by lutranthevinh0610 on
