The line chart illustrates the different types of fuel used in the USA since 1980 and the predictions until 2030. It can be noted that almost every kind of fuel consumption increased and is predicted to be even higher in the future, meanwhile, hydropower remained stagnant and will be the least chosen in 2030.
Petrol and oil were the most chosen ones, starting at 35 quadrillion
units
in 1980, it fluctuated for the first three periods, before significantly rising by 30% in the later five periods. Moreover
, it is predicted that in the future, petrol and oil will remain the favourite.
Showing the same pattern, coal and natural gas were a tie for the second most preferred fuel. They accounted for less than 20 units
in 1980, but even though their trend seemed volatile in the next seven periods, they are forecasted to reach more than 25 units
in 2030. Next are the other types of energy, which are nuclear, solar/wind, and hydropower. They were the least used ones and forecasted to remain the least in the future. These three fuels never reached 10 units
since 1980. While
the nuclear and solar/wind inclined subtly, the water-based power declined. It is also
