rate was the highest in food, beverages and cigarettes in all five countries in 2002. Italian people had the largest percentage of consumer spending on clothing and shoes,
while
Turkish people had the highest expenditure on
education
and leisure.
Turkey
had the highest spending percentage in snacks, beverages and tobacco
consumption
nearly 32.14%,
while
Ireland
came to the second place with 28%. The
consumption
percentage of food, drinks and cigarettes in Spain, Italy and Sweden was relatively the same with 18.80%, 16.36% and 15.77% respectively. Italian
consumption
was the highest in clothing and footwear nearly 9%,
while
Sweden had the lowest
consumption
with only 5.40%.

Turkey
had the largest proportion of spending on

and leisure in 2002, with 4.35%. Spanish people expenditure in
