overall score
Estimated score: 5. Your ideas answer the question, but some ideas are not clear or well explained. Many word and grammar errors also make parts hard to understand.
task response
Make each main idea clearer. For the career side, explain why higher pay is important for a person and their family. For the family side, explain how time together can help people feel less stress and live better.
task response
Use careful examples. The claim that 70% of managers choose work needs a real source. If you do not know a source, use a general example instead: 'For example, a worker may work long hours to save money for a home.'
task response
Some points do not fit well. 'Company development', 'country fund', and crime rates are too broad. Focus on the person: money, job growth, stress, close ties, and life balance.
coherence and cohesion
Keep one main point in each paragraph. Your first body paragraph should be about money and job safety. Your second should be about happiness, health, and close family ties.
coherence and cohesion
Link ideas with simple words used in the right way: 'First', 'Also', 'However', 'For example', and 'Therefore'. Do not use 'As a result' too often.
coherence and cohesion
Make the opinion line more direct in the introduction. For example: 'Although a good career can give people money and safety, I believe time with family and friends is more important for a happy life.'
coherence and cohesion
End with the same clear view. For example: 'In short, career success is useful, but family and friends give people love, support, and a better life.'
task response
You discuss both sides and give a clear opinion: family and friends are more important.
coherence and cohesion
Your essay has a clear four-part shape: introduction, one side, the other side, and conclusion.
task response
You use some examples and results, such as more pay, less money worry, and better mental health.
Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
