task response
State your main view more clearly. You say it depends on the job, but also say practical skills are more needed for sales jobs. Explain how far you agree or disagree with the main idea.
task response
Develop both main points. Explain why scientists need formal study, such as learning facts and safe ways of work. Then explain why sales workers need real skills, such as talking to people and making sales.
task response
Add a short ending that repeats your view. For example: formal study will still be needed for many jobs, but real skills may matter more in some other jobs.
coherence and cohesion
Use a clear four-part plan: opening, jobs that need formal study, jobs that need practical skills, and ending.
coherence and cohesion
Use simple link words to show the path of your ideas: 'First', 'For example', 'However', and 'In the end'.
coherence and cohesion
Make each sentence complete and easy to read. For example, write 'Some jobs prefer communication or computer skills' instead of 'because in some jobs prefer communication skills or computer skills'.
task response
You give a clear and useful contrast between scientists and sales workers.
task response
Your examples fit the topic and help show that job needs are not always the same.
coherence and cohesion
Your ideas move in a clear order: general view, science jobs, then sales jobs.
Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
