Nowadays consumer goods have become the most important part of people's lives. Do the advantage of the outweigh the disadvantage?

Consumerism is social and economic ideology that encourages people to acquire more products and service in on ever increasing amounts. It is incontrovertible fact that the given topic assert that the consumers better have lots of merits of the human beings outweigh the demerits. In this essay, I am going to examine this question from both points of view.

Some employers offer their employees subsidised membership of gyms and sports clubs, believing that this will make their staff healthier and thus more effective at work. Other employers see no benefit in doing so. Consider the arguments from both aspects of this possible debate, and reach a conclusion.

Certain employers subscribe to the much healthier employee, the more effectiveness output. So they consider some perks for gyms and healthy activities. There is an argument around this belief. However, which will be discussed here.

There is a significant change in buying trends of people in some developing countries over the last few years. People tend to invest more on modern and new products to avail maximum benefits associated with them. I agree to some extent that economic prosperity, high wages, attractive advertisements and improved quality of products ignite people to buy the latest products. However, it has many detrimental effects on the environment that leads to pollution, deforestation and massive quality of rubbish in societies.

It is argued by some that, both, the people with inadequate means and the ones that have more than enough find it hard to get admission into a university. I completely disagree with this opinion and think that there are many significant challenges that a poor student faces, which makes it many folds more difficult for him to obtain higher education.

Recruiters currently tend to favour candidates who have formal academic qualifications over those with only life experiences or personal attributes. Although the trend occurs for several reasons, this may have an adverse influence on our society.

Immigrants suffer discrimination at work. Talk about them and give your opinion on how to change this scenario.

Racism has increased due to a large number of refugee immigrants from African countries in war, however, they are facing social issues when it comes to working in the country of asylum. There are two causes for this unfair behaviour from the work force, one of them is the preconception about their capacity to exert the tasks, and the other one their ethnicity. The matters presented in this essay, discuss the causes of xenophobia at the business environment, furthermore, provides a recommendation on the way to best effect the staff behaviour aiming to promote safe and affirming job for everybody.

There is a division in certain quarters about why foreign languages are learnt. While some people think that the sole purpose is for visiting and working abroad, others believe that there are more reasons to it such as appreciating international art. Although I strongly believe that there is more to studying other languages, both sides of the argument will be discussed.

Community in urban areas where continuous development of infrastructures and facilities are abundant, some people are debating whether to use open spaces for planting trees or constructing houses. In the modern era, keep balance on learning between theoretical lesson and practical lesson has become a controversial issue. In the recent times, science and technology has developed to such an extent that it is now possible to even increase a people's life span by using advanced medical facilities. It is thought by some people that this development is good for mankind, however others believe that this has a negative impact on humans. In my opinion, science has made people's life easier as compared with older days, so it is certainly a good development, but few anti-social elements may use it to harm society so in such cases technology has proven dangerous too.

It is generally believed that some people are born with certain talents, for instance sport or music, and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician.

Some people claim that some people are naturally endowed with gifts, while others are not. Also, some people are of the opinion that any child could be trained be good at these activities. Personally, I believe that with hard work and determination, irrespective of one's talent, any child could learn to be good at playing some musical instrument or playing sports.

This practice can act as an incentive for some but may also have a negative impact on others. To what extent is this style of management effective? Are there better ways of encouraging employees to work hard?

The excellent performance of the staff in an organization is usually rewarded in various ways and monetary rewards to the best performer are on increasing trend these days in most of the organizations. Although it motivates the employees to work harder, however, some people are of opinion that such rewards execute a negative impact on other workers. In my viewpoint, extra money along with other ways of motivation will encourage the working personnel to perform better.
