Some employers offer their employees subsidized membership of gyms and sports clubs, believing that this will make their staff healthier and thus more effective at work.Other employers see no benefit in doing so.Consider the arguments from both aspects of this possible debate, and reach a conclusion.

Nowadays employers provide various benefits to their
employees
to make them effective at
work
. Some
companies
believe that sponsoring gyms and
sports
memberships would achieve their goals while others believe it does not have any effect. In
this
essay, I will discuss both views and explain why I believe the above approach does not improve the
efficiency
at the office.
To begin
with, some employers believe that
sports
activities and regular exercise would help to maintain a healthy life due to the
health
issues
such
as obesity has become a major
health
problem and it has affected negatively the
efficiency
of day-to-day works. Do regular exercises and involve in various
sports
activities help to reduce excess fat which improves the physical and mental
health
of these individuals.
For instance
, if a person goes to the gym before starting
work
, it would make him/her mentally and physically strong and it helps
work
efficiently throughout the day. Because of
this
reason, it is important that
companies
should provide
such
membership for their
employees
in order to make them strong and healthier which ultimately improve their performance at
work
.
On the other hand
, others argue that there are no benefits for providing company-sponsored gyms and
sports
memberships to improve the
efficiency
at
work
. They believe that in order to improve the performance at the workplace, they should focus on other factors
such
as increasing salaries, provide training etc.
For instance
, these
companies
review each employee's
work
and determine which areas should be improved and provide them with the necessary training.
Additionally
, they review their team members' salaries and increased them annually based on their performances so that the
employees
would be motivated to continue their
work
well. Even though better
health
conditions are important at the workplace, I believe the above alternatives are more important to get better output from
employees
. In summary, some individuals think that, in order to expect efficient
work
from
employees
,
companies
should sponsor gyms and
sports
activities while others believe
this
approach does not have any better outcome. In my view I think to improve the
efficiency
at the workplace, employers should focus on other factors
such
as increasing salaries, providing relevant training to increase the job satisfaction which leads the team members to produce a better outcome.
