You recently bought a piece of equipment for your kitchen but it did not work. You phoned the shop but no action was taken. Write a letter to the shop manager. In your letter • describe the problem with the equipment • explain what happened when you phoned the shop • say what you would like the manager to do.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to express my disappointment with the rice pan I have just bought from your shop. I have been a regular and loyal customer from your business for over 5 years now and I have never experiment a problem like
this
one before. I strongly believe I deserve better treatment. Two weeks ago I entered your shop intending to search for a rice bucket.
Thus
, I found at your place just the one I was looking for: a George Freeman state-of-art electrical black pan for
this
kind of grain and decided to buy it, since I would receive some guests at my house that night and I would be preparing some japanese for our dinner.
However
, the minute I returned and started to cook the meal, I noticed that the food inside it was not cooking the way it was supposed to be. The rice was just raw, as I could not serve that awful food for my invites. Unfortunately, I had to prepare another option for us, which made me feel completely damaged.
Nevertheless
, when I tried to contact your shop, nobody answered to any of my calls.
Then
I walked to your store as It was closed for refurbish. As I already tried to reach you for solving
this
issue and did not have any success in it, I would like you to send someone from your staff to be picking up my acquisation at my house and sending
this
to your technical assistance department, in order to try to fix it for free.
Otherwise
, If
this
can not be fixed, I intend to receive a brand new product. If neither the consert is possible nor the replacement of the item, I am going ask you to deposit the amount in my bank account, as a full refund of the money I have just spent in
this
pan. The receipt from my shopping is enclosed to
this
letter, as my address information. If you do have any questions about my financials account, for the refund, above mentioned, do not hesitate in contacting me throught the phone number 89461632659 or the email: [email protected]. I look forward to have your comprehension in solving
this
problem as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, Anna Fraga

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
