You are studying for an exam, and you would like some time off work to complete it. Write a letter to your manager. In your letter: Ask for some time off to complete a qualification. Suggest what you will do later at work if you have time off. State how this qualification helps your job or company.

Dear Mr Yilmaz, I'm writing
this
letter to you to ask for time off for 2 weeks. As you may know, I have been studying the German language for a year. I believe I am ready to test my skills, so I booked an exam session to define my level. When the time is running out, I become more stressed and I can focus on my duties. As I am a passionate worker, I want to avoid mistakes for your company and
also
for myself. I'll feel relaxed studying with your permission.
Also
, if I could get a good degree, I'll be a good asset to
this
company. As we are an international tech group, there isn't any foreign language spoken.
While
making a contract with foreign companies, we hire freelancer translators and it's an expensive service in long term. In
this
way, I could help with those contracts and communication. Yours faithfully, Elif Beyza Önder.

Use cohesive linking words accurately and appropriately

Linking words are very important in your essay.

To score effectively on your IELTS exam, you should make an effort to implement short concise sentences coupled with linking words.

Almost every sentence in your essay should have a linking word of some sort.

In fact, the only sentences that can omit linking words are your background sentence and thesis.

Linking word examples:

  • firstly
  • secondly
  • thirdly
  • in additional
  • moreover
  • also
  • for example
  • for instance
  • therefore
