Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing
this
letter to inform you, unfortunately, that I have to reschedule the interview that you have invited me to join on the 22nd of
this
month because I had an emergency in my homeland that made me fly back there.
However
, I can happily join you on the 5th of the coming month.
This
will help me to solve my urgent situation. I am excited to speak with you and offer you my skills and experiences.
In addition
, I have prepared some questions to ask you so I can understand the job description better. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, John Waker

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
