The pie charts below show the percentage of electricity production by fuel source in France in 1990 and 2010
The given graph illustrates the ratio of energy produced from five different sources (Coal, Oil, Natural
gas
, Hydro Power
and Nuclear Power
) in France between 1990 and 2010. Overall
, it is abundantly clear that the distribution of gas
and coal accounted for the highest amount of fuels used during 1990 whereas
nuclear power
usage accelerated significantly in 2010.
In 1990, natural gas
and coal were recorded to have the same quantities, which was just under a third. On the same note, Oil ranks right after it with a percentage of 22%. Meanwhile, nuclear and hydropower barely reach 20% in terms of contribution to France's energy.
However
, the numbers completely changed 20 years later, with Nuclear power
soaring to over half of the figure. An insignificant amount of hydropower was used as well as
natural gas
which used to be one of the major sources of electricity. Moreover
, the distribution of coal and oil also
decreased dramatically to both 13%.Submitted by supercalifragilisticexpliadocious on
