You are soon going to spend three months doing work experience in an organisation. Write a letter to the manager of the organisation where you are going to do work experience. In your letter thank the manager for the opportunity to do work experience explain what you hope to learn from the work experience . ask some questions about the work experience you are going to do
I am writing
this
letter to show my gratitude towards you for giving me the chance of more work experience. I am so glad to know that your company has chosen me for this
opportunity.
I would expect to learn about critical skills like team management and communication skills along with
some leadership qualities. As, in my previous company, I worked as a senior healthcare assistant. So, I have enough knowledge regarding the distribution of the staff members according to
their skills and capabilities. But, due to
extra responsibilities, I was not able to focus on my language enhancement and dealing with clients. Because, my job was only limited to medication, dealing with staff members and paperwork.
After your offer, I have done some research about it and came to know that I am going to deal directly with the customers. So, I would like to make sure that someone is going to accompany me all the time as I do not have much experience of it. Also
, it would be much easier for me if you could provide me with information regarding my working hours as well.
At last
, I am very thankful for this
opportunity and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.Submitted by jotpawan13 on

coherence and cohesion
Improve the use of appropriate greeting and closing for formal letter writing.
The Greeting
Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.
Always start an informal letter in the ways:
- Dear + name
- Hi / Hello + name
‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.
For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:
- Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
- Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
