The line graph illustrates how much fish and different types of meat were consumed in a country in Europe from 1979 to 2004. Units were measured in
grams
per person per week.
Overall
, as can be seen, the
consumption
of beef, lamb and fish dropped over the period shown.
However
,
chicken
consumption
saw a substantial rise during the same period. In 1979, the figure for beef
consumption
stood at approximately 220
grams
,
whereas
that of
chicken
was lower at nearly 140
grams
. The amount of
chicken
took over beef over two main duration, from 1987 to 1988
as well as
1989 to 2004. Just over 1979, the figure for lamb
consumption
fell below that of
chicken
and saw an erratic dip of 100
grams
until 2004. It is
also
worth noting that the amount of fish consumed in a European country fluctuated around 50
grams
and
finally
saw a minimal decrease from well over 50 to just under 50
grams
.
