Make sure to address all parts of the task in a detailed and clear manner. Adding more information about why you chose the new course could strengthen your argument.
Coherence & Cohesion
Work on the clarity and organization of your ideas. Using paragraphs to separate different ideas can help improve the readability of your letter.
General
Be consistent with the name used in the letter. The sign-off name is different from the one used at the beginning.
Positive Language Use
You have politely expressed your request and demonstrated understanding of the need to communicate changes.
Structure
The overall structure of the letter follows a logical sequence, addressing the situation, the reason for change, and a request for assistance.

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
