Looking more closely at the data, in 2003, just over 30% of Americans ate fast food once a week, while around 30% did so once or twice a month. A small minority either never ate fast food or consumed it daily. By 2006, there was a slight increase in the percentage of people eating fast food once a week, as well as a growth in the number of those who ate fast food several times a week, rising from around 16% to 20%. The percentage of people eating fast food once or twice a month also increased. Meanwhile, only about 3% of Americans were daily fast food consumers during this period.
