In many schools and universities, girls tend to choose arts subjects (e.g. languages) and boys choose science subjects (e.g. Physics). What do you think are the reasons? Do you think that this tendency should be changed?

It is true that arts domains receive more female students’ admission and science majors are more attractive to males. It is considered whether
this
tendency should be intervened or not. In my opinion, the matter comes from different reasons, some of which need intervening. If it is the reason coming from “free choice”, I strongly oppose the intervention.
This
tendency could be just an aspect of psychology and biology. Most women’s brains can function more effectively with social issues related to “people” or humanities while men’s brains favour logic ideas, analysis and machinery.

However

This
should be corrected and eradicated completely. Boys and girls, in their early age, are usually oriented to their career majors by parents, teachers, peers and the stereotype of the society. The conservative encourage boys to pursue “high social status” careers

as doctors, scientists, engineers and architects whereas girls are restricted and deterred from those “intelligent jobs.” Take a fact in the 60s as an obvious example
