You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. You have just received a credit card statement from your bank. The statement lists a number of expensive purchases that you are sure you did not make. Write a letter to the bank manager. In the letter: • Introduce yourself. • Explain that you did not buy the items listed. • Say what you would like the bank to do to fix the problem. You do not need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir, I am Jane Edison, a loyal customer of your bank for the past three years. I am penning down
this
letter to complain about the recent transactions of purchasing expensive mobile phones using my credit cards, internationally.
Firstly
, I would like to bring it to your notice that I reside in St Brookes street, Newyork and I have never been out of the country since 2016. I recently got the latest model of iPhone-SX from my manager as a parting gift. Whereas,
this
transaction took place on a Point of sales machine, at a mall in Paris and
hence
it is impossible that I would have done it.
Secondly
, looking at the bank statements for the month of April, I could confirm that the amount withdrawn was in euros. Thereby I am assuming
this
as a fraudulent transaction done by a random person internationally,
also
that the person has hacked my card. I request your sincere efforts to immediately block my credit card in order to prevent any
further
intervention from the outsiders. I am attaching a copy of my passport and bank statements for your reference. Looking forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely, Jane

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
