Write a letter to the hotel making the arrangements. Let them know when you will be arriving and leaving, what type of rooms you would like, and ask them how much the weekend will cost. Also enquire about activities and places of interest near the hotel.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing
this
letter for making an arrangement for my stay in the hotel. Sincerely I am hoping to spend a pleasant journey in your lodge. I would like to inform you that I will arrive at 10am on Saturday the 15th and
then
my departure time will be on Monday the 17th at 11 am, so I am planning to stay for two nights. I am looking forward to staying in a cosy room which has a splendid view with one big and comfortable bed.

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
