You ordered an item from an online store and it has arrived damaged. Write a letter to the retailer to complain. In the letter: – Explain why you are unhappy – Request a refund – Make arrangements to return the damaged item

✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the delivery of two food items that were ordered through your online services.  The order was placed and delivered on July 10, 2022. I purchased two bags of ready-to-eat food; prawns and the other one was lintel and rice. On receiving, as soon as I looked for the items, realised that the lintel and rice packaging was marked with the expiry date of two months old.
This
to me was absolutely unacceptable, especially for customers ordering through your website.  Having stated above, I would like to send back the expired item through your return policy.
Additionally
, would like you to provide me with a refund.
Furthermore
, I request you to take
this
very seriously and improve the checking of your services before it reaches its customer. Looking forward to hearing from you! Yours Sincerely, Shagun Rodhe

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
