The two line graphs below show New Zealand import figures from Australia and Japan in the years 1994 - 2004.
The line graphs depict information about New Zealand imports from
Australia
and Japan between 1994 and 2004, measured in the country's local currency per million. At first glance, imports from
Australia
finished much higher than they started
while
from Japan finished slightly lower than at the beginning. Imports from the two mentioned countries changed a lot over the period. As can be seen, at the onset,
Australia
began at 4000, increased significantly to around 6500,
then
had a decreased fluctuation reaching 3000 in 1999,
then
grew to over 7000, declined again and achieved 5000,
finally
rose considerably to 8000 in 2004. As observed, Japan showed a different trend with less fluctuation. In the beginning, it started at 3000, surged steadily to just over 6000 in 1997, dipped sharply to 4000,
then
surged rapidly to a peak of 6000, and fell dramatically to 3000 in 2001,
then
continued declining modestly until 2000 in 2004, four times less than
Australia
.
