The bar graph illustrates Australia’s five types of levels of school certification by gender in 1999. One of the first things to note is that the percentage of women’s undergraduate diplomas was the highest among other rates of women’s qualifications. The proportion of women with Bachelor’s degrees was about 53% and

for Master’s degrees and postgraduate diplomas was 40% and 30% respectively. In regard to the proportion of men’s post-school qualification, the second highest

was the Postgraduate diploma (70%), but the men in Master’s degree

was smaller than the postgraduate diploma

it is clear that
the
rate
of higher education among men was higher than among women, and the percentage of males who have a specialized occupational certificate showed the highest

among both genders in 1999.
