The pie chart illustrates the proportion of people arrested in the UK by gender between 2015 and 2020 and the bar chart demonstrates the different categories for their arrests.
Overall
, more males
were arrested than females and public intoxication was the most common reason for both sexes.
Starting with the pie chart, 32% of men were captured by police and 68% of them were not arrested while
the rate of arrests of women was much lower with 9% and 91% of them did not have experience of being taken to the police.
Turning to the bar graph, both males
and females were most committed to public intoxication with slightly above 30% and below 40% respectively. Another reason for higher rates of women was assault with nearly 20% than males
with about 15%. The second major crime among men was drunk driving with over 20%, which was much higher than women with approximately 15%. Regarding the percentages of breaking and entering, theft and other, they were all under 20% for both genders with theft being the least committed among males
