The graph below shows the percentage of Australian exports to 4 countries from 1990 to 2012

You should write at least 150 words.
The line graph illustrates the statistics on goods exported from Australia to four different countries including
Japan
, the US,
China
, and
India
during a period of 22 years, commencing from 1990 to 2012.
Overall
, it can be seen that
Australian
exports
to
Japan
and the US experienced a downward trend,
whereas
exports
to
India
and, especially, to
China
witnessed considerable growth.
To begin
with, it is apparent that the
percentage
of
Australian
exports
to
China
was almost 2.5% at the beginning,
while
that for
Japan
was 10 times as high.
However
, over the following 15 years,
this
gap closed as the
percentage
of
exports
to
China
climbed noticeably and overtook that of
Japan
in 2007, ending the era at approximately 28%.
Therefore
, in 2012, the biggest shares of
Australian
exports
belonged to
China
and
Japan
took the second place.
Additionally
,
according to
the graph, the
percentage
of goods exported to
India
began at a modest 1% in 1990,
then
remained steady until 2000. After that, it increased sharply and peaked at nearly 7% in 2010,
then
fell again to 5% in 2012.
Besides
,
Australian
exports
to the US were 11% in 1990.
This
number mainly fluctuated across the 22-year period, with a minimal dip in 2010, where the
percentage
of goods exported to the US reached 4%. Ultimately,
India
and the US became the least favourite destinations for exportation.
