In a number of countries, some people think it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constricting new railway lines for very fast trains between cities. Others believe the money should be spent on improving existing public transport. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

The national expenditure on transportation is an area of heavy debate. While some people are of the opinion that more funds should be channelled towards building better rail tracks, so as to facilitate faster journeys between major cities, others are of the opinion that, strengthening the older systems will be more beneficial. In my opinion, it is vital to renovate the existing transport system. We will discuss both these views, in this essay.

The rising level of people’s income is being increasingly witnessed in many nations nowadays and as a result, people tend to purchase more products compared to the past. It is thought by many that there has been a rapid rise in poor attitude and lack of regard shown to others in the society. This is as a result of no parental guidance in the family. One way of tackling this is for parents to guide children in the right direction.

It is argued by some that reading during leisure time can improve the imagination and the skill to use a language better than watching the television. In my opinion, picking up a book for fun can help the individual to think and use language more effectively.

It is true that people of today belong to a throwaway culture, wherein they buy and dispose things easily. There are reasons why this is happening and some issues can result to this trend.

Who is accountable for teaching the young generation how to be healthy and fit has become a hot topic of discussion these days. Technological development has considerable impacted people’s lives. It is argued that due to the technology, traditional approaches and ways of life of a country vanished. It is further said that to maintain them is meaningless. I fully agree with this notion and this essay will discuss reasons for it.

Due to the development and rapid expansion of supermarkets in some countries, many small, local business are unable to compete. Some people think that the closure of local business will bring about the death of local communities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is argued by some that the closing of small scale businesses will cause the demise of local communities because of the rapid growth of supermarkets and the inability of small shops to compete. In my opinion, I agree that the termination of local shops will bring about an end to the local areas. Firstly, many local people cannot afford the prices of goods from these large stores. Secondly, most of these supermarkets are situated far away from rural areas.
