Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer. What, in your opinion, should be the main function of a university?

Universities mould graduates into becoming decent professionals, and also lays the groundwork to excel in their workplace. While some believe that tertiary education institutions should conduct classes on techniques required for the sake of future employment, others assert that colleges should merely provide an option for this, and it is the responsibility of the student to develop new attributes, which may be useful for job opportunities. I personally believe with the former statement, and this will elaborate on this topic with relevant examples.

Nowadays, technology is increasingly being used to monitor what people are saying and doing (for example, through cell phone tracking and security cameras) In many cases, the people being monitored are unaware that this is happening. Do you think the advantages of this development outweighs its disadvantages?

It is often thought by some that technologies, which are now made to watch what people say or do through their phones that are used to track them or security cameras, are better to be monitoring individuals without their knowledge, while others think it is better for them to be aware of this monitoring. I believe it is best for them to be unaware because of safety reasons and having a normal life.

Sports programmes are very popular on television nowadays. Some people argue that those programmes are the reasons for poor health of many young people as the prefer to watch sports rather than partake in them. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

Today, television programmes for sporting events is increasingly popular, so many people consider that young men and women are unhealthy due to such programmes as they enjoy viewing sports activities instead of taking active part in them. In my opinion, I strongly disagree because I believe unhealthy food options and poor public health education are the prevalent causes of this phenomenon.

Some people think that the best way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences. Others, however, believe there are better alternative ways of reducing crime. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Although, it is considered by some that the crime rate can be reduced by strict prison rulings, others believe that alternative methods should be focused to reduce the crime occurrences in a society. In my opinion, I consider long imprisonments a viable option, depending on the nature and motive of the crime committed.

Government should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

The Railway is believed to be the cheapest source of transportation. A single train has the capacity to carry more than 400 people. Thousands of people use it every day to travel to their work, relatives, etc. However, due to the demand for private transport such as cars, the Government is not spending enough on railways. I strongly agree with this statement as the current condition of the trains is very poor.

Efficient and modern infrastructure is the need of the fast moving world. While some people believe that investment in railway infrastructure is much needed than spending on road construction, I believe that developments in both sectors are equally important.

Many Individuals believe that Bicycle, as a mode of commutation is of more advantages than travelling by cars. In today's era, owing to busy lifestyles, demand for leisure hours lead to more and more use of scientific advancements. Mode of travel, needs to be of high consideration in this regard. I would argue on the side of travelling with bicycles.

Popcorn, a cold drink and a thrilling movie. You can get all these things in a cinema, and it seems to be the perfect setting for a first date. However, nowadays we can see films on our phones or tablets and there is no need to go to the cinema. It is questioned whether a movie need to be seen in a cinema, to be fully enjoyed.

With the development of science and technology, there is an increasing trend of working at home other than going to work place. This phenomenon leads to a serious of discussion of whether can employers and benefit from this. In my opinion, working at home instead of going to work place is in the best interest employers.

People have different views about what and how society can be ideal. I think there are some significant factors that lead to the perfection of society, and people need to act to build an ideal society.

Over the last decades, humans gained a lot more medical knowledge. Doctors, nurses and in general hospitals and caring facilities got better and better. Nowadays, even cancer is not always fatal anymore. Despite this improvement, the average standard of people’s health is likely to be lower in the future. It is questioned whether this is the case or just a pessimistic prediction.

A great number of humans feel that adolescent age is the most joyful period of life. However, most persons believed in adulthood at the happiest time of existence. Greta Thunberg is the initiator of the "Fridays for Future" movement, which gains more and more attention. Teenagers and children demonstrate for environmental protection all over the world. They want the governments to act in order to stop the climate change. The question is, whether the our leaders are responsible for the protection or whether every individual should take responsibility for it.

Putting wildlife in confined spaces is considered a gruesome act in recent times; therefore abolishment of these artificial environments is in demand. Even though some people want to exercise an outright ban on zoos, I firmly hold a belief that abolishing these parks is not a judicious decision.

Nowadays, more and more people are suffering from sicknesses that were caused by stress. This essay will discuss two main causes of stress-related sicknesses, increasing work pressures and family pressures. This essay will also suggest solutions to these problems, including a reduction in working hours and healthy lifestyle.

Some people believe that the celebrities deserve to be highly paid because they serve the country and represent the country’s culture to the globe. While others believe that there are other professions that should earn high salaries because of what they present. I am of the belief that microbiological scientists, teachers and firefighters should earn more money than entertainers. Both views will be discussed in this essay.

Most countries allow 18-year olds to start driving a car. Some say it is good to allow at this age. But others think that the age to start driving should be at least 25. Discuss both the views and give your opinion.

In several countries, the legal age to obtain a driving license is 18 years. While some believe this is an apt age to start driving, others ascertain that the age limit should be increased to 25 years. I personally believe with the latter part of the argument and will shed light on both view-points with relevant examples.
