It is widely accepted that, the ideas and views of the general public would have been governed by the people, who rule over the mass media and only limited ways available for people to correct this. I think this statement holds a valid ground because media affect the thinking of people in many ways.

There is a lot of pressure on young people today to succeed academically. As a result, some people believe that non-academic subjects, such as physical education and cookery, should be removed from the school syllabus so that children can concentrate on academic work. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Students nowadays are under increasing pressure to achieve academic success in order to get into a good university or secure a well paid job. For this reason some people argue that schools need to focus on academic subjects and non academic subjects should therefore not be taught. I would argue that while academic skills are important, schools need to teach a wide range of both academic and more skills-based subjects.

In many countries where there is high rate of unemployment, most students should be offered only primary education. There is no point in offering secondary education to those who have no hope of finding a job. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Some regions in the world suffer from nonemployment and it is thought by some people the students in those countries should be merely able to study primary education. Studying secondary education is not necessary and even pointless since it is highly likely that they could not find any job. In my opinion, it is true that some countries have problems offering jobs for its people. However, I believe that it is not a sufficient reason to prevent individuals from educating themselves further.

People think teaching students the literature of their own country will be better instead of other countries. While I accept that students should be encouraged literature works of their own culture, I also believe that studying foreign literature is equally fundamental.

However, it is suggested by the others that the motive behind each individual carrying out wrongful action, their situation and condition should be considered when giving punishment. In my opinion, even though fixed penalties may seem to have contributed to the encouragement of equality, regarding each individual's own condition when punishing the unlawful behaviour provides more just environment.

Today, sports media have been dominated1 by sportsmen, leaving sportswomen with very little attention. The main reasons for this lie in the prejudice against women doing sports, and the fact that men’s sports shows are generally more interesting than women’s, and I opine2 that equal coverage3 for both sexes is essential.

At the present time, editors decide what kind of news should be shown on television and what kind of news should be printed in newspapers and magazines. It doesn’t matter to them what sort of news, bad or good, their sole wish to make sense even from bad news. Therefore, there is a lot of bad news, which became popular and they have an impact on people. Maybe we have to announce only good news and hide the bad ones.
