It is thought by some individuals that newly constructed buildings ought to follow the same pattern as the old ones in the countryside, others are of the opinion that people should be given independence to build their houses whichever way they please. Although building new houses as the old ones would create uniformity, I believe variety of different structures are better.

Food travels thousands of miles from producers to consumers. Some people think that it would be better for the environment and economy if people ate only the local food produced by farmers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

With a growing network of supermarkets, consumers can find a large variety of edibles imported from various parts of the world. There are people who opine that consuming only locally grown food is beneficial for the environment and the economy. I do agree with this view to a certain extent. However, if people limit themselves to locally produced food, they will have very few options.

Over the past few years, there is a great competition to host international sporting events. These events, typically, are held every three or four years and a large number of people travel across the world to support their team during the event. While a sizable number of people believe that the price involved in hosting such events is worthwhile, but others claim that it could have dire consequences and perhaps not every country should try and stage international sporting events.

How can we tackle the issue of air pollution and traffic congestion? It is suggested that the most effective way to solve this problem is to inflate the cost of petroleum. Some are of the opinion that young people should go to school, on the contrary, other people believe it is more beneficial to school children at home. I will discuss the advantages of both approaches to teaching children and express my opinion on this matter.

According to some people, excessive noise making should be considered as law violation. On the contrary, others opine that there should not be any restriction on noise they make. Every individual must be given freedom to make noise, but make sure they do not cross the limitations and violate rules. This essay will elaborate on both views followed by my opinion.

It is often argued by some people that school should take the equal onus as parents in inculcating good habits in the children and educating them what is right or wrong for them. Since the second half of the last century, there has been a pragmatic shift in technological advancements. People's opinion differ as to whether technological development will cause traditional cultures to be lost. While there are various arguments against this assertion, I completely agree that the development of technology will eventually lead to traditional cultures to be lost.

It is argued that people should keep their house and offices, neat and well managed. I totally agree with the notion because of the two prime reasons. Firstly, a clean and organized place make your life comfortable, safer and easier and secondly, your inhabited surroundings say a lot about your personality, leaving an impression on the people you meet.

Crime, in many countries, has been growing beyond the alarming rate. Hence, making it imperative to take action against. While a section of the society opines that law and order or an equally authorised body must control crime, it is considered by others that individuals ought to be responsible enough in protecting themselves. According to me, the latter is possible only if the former is in control.

That is the reason that it is argued that virtual buying and selling will eventually replace the in-store shopping. Since the advent of 20th century, we have seen a number of prominent supermarket brands dominating the retail market. With the expansion of such brands to tier-1 and tier-2 cities many people believe that, it can lead to the closure of many local business' and, ultimately lead to the end of local communities. I agree with this argument, and in this essay I will put forth my views with supporting examples.
