The two line graphs below show New Zealand import figures from Australia and Japan in the years 1994 - 2004. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two line graphs depict, the
imports
for New Zealand from two different countries namely
Australia
and Japan for 10
years
. The units were measured in millions.
Overall
, both graphs showed fluctuations.
Whereas
,
Australia
, showed an increase in
imports
in contrast
to Japan showed a downward
trend
. I will
further
explain both the graphs below. In the case of
Australia
, the products that came to New Zealand from
Australia
showed a steady escalation from
year
1994 to 1996.
Whereas
, onwards 1996 it falls slowly upto the
year
1998 and dropped suddenly to 3000
million
in the
year
1999. From
this
trend
followed an upward
trend
and the
imports
rose and reached 7000
million
in the
year
2001 and
then
after
this
in the
year
2002 again fell and came up to 5000, between the
years
2002- 2003 and
finally
in the
year
2004 showed an increase of about 8000
million
.
On the other hand
,
imports
from Japan showed little variation throughout 10
years
. The
imports
started from 3000
million
in the
year
1994 and gradually grew and between the
years
1996 to 1997 it reached the level of 6000
million
.
While
in 1997
this
trend
steadily started decreasing and between the
year
1998 to the
year
1999 it remained steady at around

4000
million
and in the
year
2000 showed a steep increase and onwards to the
year
2004 it plummeted and reached about 2000

.
