“Is Logan fairly represented in the media, or does the media disadvantage people of the community through prejudice and reinforced stereotypes?”

The Members of Logan are divided on the issue of representation in the media. The City of Logan is located between Queensland’s capital city of Brisbane, and the diverse localities; Gold Coast, Redlands, Ipswich and the Scenic Rim. Logan currently has a population of 334,358 people, comprising 217 nationalities and cultures, with approximately 50% of residents aged 30 or younger (Logan city 2019). The Logan City was represented in the media with lacks of security and high profile of violent crimes (RF). The City's representation also described as "Brazen youth gangs terrorising Brisbane" (RF). The city was ranked as Brisbane’s top suburbs for car and home theft insurance claims, and yet Logans have a reputation about shit-faced and inter-generational welfare dependency (RF). The media have revealed negative images of Logan community and had disadvantaged people of the community basis of stereotypes and discriminatory attitudes, and only focused on certain people.

There has been much recent policy advocacy related to what the proper role of governments in healthcare should be. Although I believe governments have begun to treat this issue with the seriousness it merits, the responsibility for taking care of one’s health should ultimately rest with individuals as they are more likely to stick with habits that they themselves have cultivated.

Truly people say that instead of us seeing the internet as a means of creating diverse communication possibilities worldwide, we should be concerned about the effect it is having on social interactions which I totally agree to. One of the reasons I agree with this view is because people now spend more time on the internet doing what does not benefit them for instance, watching videos of immoral activities. This time being spent on watching these videos could be spent on building good transmission skills with people around them.

Some people prefer to live a miserable life with low salary jobs and with less amount of money; however, some try to tackle with these situations by improving them. I will discuss both the views and give my opinion, which is in the favour of the latter group.

In the contemporary era, education is becoming vital for an individual to improve their life standard. In developing nations, few masses believe that, authority should implement the latest machinery in a daily lifestyle to enhance quality of life. However, this is supported by few, other have a strong counter argument that, instead giving a free schooling would be the most beneficial in near future. In my opinion, introducing a new mechanization would be the best option. Both views of this debate will analyse before reason conclusion is drawn.
