A person's worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust, no longer seem important. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Opinions differ as to measuring one's behaviour with their social influence and personal possessions or traditional morality. I truely believe that people should be judged by their traditional values.

Many people work long hours, leaving very little time for leisure activities. Does this situation have more advantages or more disadvantages.

A saying goes , thus; "All work and bo play makes jack a dull boy". However, nowadays, people work long hours without having time for play activities. In my opinion, this act should not be encouraged as the disadvantage such as health problem far outweighs the advantage.

In the past, even a high-school pass out was considered capable for a job. Nowadays, highly qualified graduates are struggling to get a decent job. They migrate to developed countriesin search of jobs, but these countries are also facing the same issue.

These few decades have seen an upsurge in the popularity of violent sports such as boxing, martial arts… which has caused a lot of arguments among the society. From my point of view, I wholehearted believe that the idea of imposing a ban on this genre of sports should take effect as soon as possible due to its potential benefits.

Some people think the government should increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles in order to solve environment problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Increased use of fuel and its role global warming and the green house phenomenon has long been proven. Recently, more and more people have advocated toward increasing costs of fuel in an attemt to solve this critical problem. Although it is a wondeful if we are interested in protecting our planet, I do not fully agree it will solve this problem.

Tests and examinations restricts teachers creativity and innovation, and they also exert unnecessary pressure on young learners. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Provide reasons for your answer. Include relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Undoubtedly, current education system followed by periodical exams and evaluation tests limits the creative and in innovative ideas of the teachers by forcing them to meet the guidelines of the syllabii. These methods also create extra burden on the students in the form of joining private coachings to excel in exams. Hence, I completely agree with this statement.

Nowadays, people feel resentful to spend money on the government. For some people, it is considered unnecessary to pay tax to the governing body, which could instead be kept for themselves. I completely disagree with this concept and wish to convey that paying tax must be a compulsion.

Some people believe that money should be spend on constructing new railways lines for fast trains between cities whereas another group of thinker support that money should be spent on improving existing public transport. There are some differences between the way of Asian and Caucasian parents raise their children. In Western culture, young people aged 18 or 21 have to move out from their parents’ home to start their own life. It is undianble fact that people do not understand the value of food. They purchase food from restaurants and throw it away. The reasons behind this is that, people have a lot of choices and few time they buy it without thinking about quantity. There could be done a plenty of things to drop the proportion of waste food.

Zoos continue to be controversial, even now that they have evolved into ‘animal parks’ or similar facilities. Most people love animals, and there are strong views on both sides, which I will discuss now. People opposed to zoos highlight the unnatural way in which animals live in such places. For example, captive animals do not need to hunt or raise offspring, and this means that they are not living as nature intended. Furthermore, the anti-zoo lobby point out that animals probably suffer mentally when kept in captivity, even if their surroundings are spacious and similar to the natural habitat. Symptoms of mental issues range from repetitive behaviour to eating disorders, and these are often seen in captive animals. Lastly, it is often said that zoos add little to animal conservation, which is better served by preserving their habitat.
