IELTS Opinion Writing Samples Band 8.5
There is a contentious debate about whether schools should reward students who demonstrate top academic results or the ones who improve. In this essay, I will explore both opinions and explain why I lean towards the latter.
It has become a controversial topic and many argue that the museum should levy fees to visitors. I opine with this line of thought and will enunciate upon both aspects of the debate before reaching an appropriate conclusion.
Museums play a vital role in human society for obvious reasons. They reveal many unknown facts and hidden truths. The discussion, whether the museums should be chargeable or free will always remain at its peak due to difference of opinion. This essay will give us insight into the advantages and disadvantages of museums that charge a fee or are free for admission.
Few of the masses believe that toppers should be rewarded by Universities while others claim that students who are improving are crucial to reward. This essay will analyse both perspectives and explain why I support the former view.
Some people feel that travelling abroad for pleasure , which has now become a trend , will have negative consequences on host countries . I completely agree that a large number of tourists is often unbeneficial for countries travelled to. This essay will discuss how tourists are a potential risk for locations they visit and how economies should not depend on money from tourists trade .
There is no doubt that the government should allocate some portion of its budget to enhance sports facilities. Although, many believe that the regime should finance more capital for top athletes. However, others think that the money should be utilized for sports facilities for the population. This essay will discuss both sides of the arguments and I support the latter one.
There is no doubt that it is the governments’ responsibility to allocate budget to multiple areas such as education, healthcare infrastructure and arts etc. According to some people, financing in arts is a wastage of money and the government should finance more in literacy. I completely agree with this view for the following reasons.
There is an endless debate between people who suggest that an erection of railway roads for high-speed trains between metropolises is a necessity, while others think that the financing should be directed to the improvement of the existing public transportation. I will discuss both views and give my own opinion on this topic.
It is always good to learn about good and bad at an early age to stay out of the consequences. It is a hot topic to discuss, whether or not, we should incorporate disciplinary action to make them understand right and wrong. I opine with the idea of not teaching this lesson with the fear of punishments.

I my opinion, most people start off with their day by reading the newspaper, listening to the radio or by watching the broadcast on television. In this case, if they get to know about the positive and development related report, they will begin their day with a similar thought.
