There is considerable debate over whether family or external factors such as friends, television, and music have the greatest impact on a child’s development. While both play important roles, I believe that family remains the most powerful influence, particularly in shaping a child’s core values and early behavior. However, the growing presence of external influences cannot be underestimated, especially as children grow older.

I agree to a large extent that improving living conditions is a more effective approach to preventing crime than relying solely on punishment. As he took students to various places to explore the world themselves, he encouraged his students to be wild and adventurous so they could have stimulating learning experiences. For instance, he sometimes let us conduct a community survey to analyze local problems and other times take a tour of a city to find its cultural features, all of which they could not have learned at school. Such practical opportunities not only led to an intimate relationship between students and local residents but also to their growing curiosities toward the world, increasing their motivation to learn throughout their life. Since then, I have believed that education is essential for the progress of individuals and society and is what people need the most to solve complicated problems in this fast-changing world.
