Space exploration costs taxpayers an exorbitant amount of money annually. This is because man will go through many lengths to learn, understand and experience many things from other lands and worlds to other species to other planets. The list is endless and so is the quest for knowledge. Knowing about where we live and how we interact with our worlds and finding ways to improve our existence and living experiences is why science is so intriguing. A major bone of contention is space exploration, since after the first man landed on the moon, there have been several other feats, funded by taxpayers and it is no small amount. In this essay, I will discuss why this quest for knowledge is both good and bad and whether I think we should continue.
