IELTS Opinion Writing Samples Band 8.5
The past two decades have been marked by incredible progress and innovation, thus some people believe that there are many things that have changed that would bring more opportunity to their current life period. I strongly disagree with this statement and the following examples will be provided in order to support my point of view.
In the concurrent world, there are dozens of occupations have existed for a long time. some people claim that artists have coined more important things for us, while others say that scientists have created more sensational inventions for our planet. To me, I agree with both opinions. This essay is going to discuss those two ideas and my own explanations.
Crime rates have been increasing enormously in recent years. While some think that a longer prison punishment should be given to solve this problem, I agree with those who feel that other useful methods can be used to reduce the rising criminality rate.
Holiday destinations are always a popular talk among society. A bunch of humans will plan for their home country rather than visiting foreign in the coming future. I partially agree with this and will demonstrate the same in this essay along with my opinion.
History plays an important role in our lives. It is not only about learning some dates and anniversaries but, it's also about knowing about our past. It is believed that we should preserve and save the beautiful architecture from the past even if it is not expensive. I accord the said statement and will be discussing the reasons for the same in the following paragraphs.
Many prefer to conduct the same activities and things in their lives. Also ,they always avoid changes. However ,some people opine altering is suitable besides good. From my point of ,view, I believe that having a specific program is better than changing stuff.
There are several factors involved in making a person be better in society. Some people believe that parents must learn their children to be good citizens, however, some others believe that the schools have to do this. This essay discusses both views and I will provide my opinion in the following paragraphs.
It is true that the demand for new residences is increasingly rising in many countries especially the developing nations , but only the countryside that has sufficient spaces for the building . Some individuals argue that those lands should be protected from any construction. In my opinion , I completely disagree with this view .
It is believed by some people that guardians should educate their children on their own because it can be beneficial for them in many ways. However, others think that school is a building where people will become doctors, teachers and engineers because it provides them with a lot of information about the outer world. Therefore, I opine that schools are essential.
During the increase of modern life, it is possible to observe that the majority of couples nowadays have decided to prorogue the decision of having babies. From my point of view, career, social changes, the cost of educating children are some of the reasons behind this trend. Also, I personally believe that the advantages of having children later in life outweigh the disadvantages.
Thanks to the advancement of technology, humanity has various ways to connect with each other, especially on social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. It can be observed that a large number of people are drawing attention to how each person keeps on track with new occasions or makes friends with people on social media. As far as I am concerned, I personally think there are more drawbacks than benefits, and my essay will shed light on both sides of the view.
Several representatives of contemporary society deem that local governments should provide for all citizens a certain income in order to they have a sufficient amount of money for life. From my perspective, it cannot be denied that this statement is composed of a fraction of the truth. Therefore, I am going to reflect on this essay my own view of such a tendency and to provide strong arguments, which confirm my position.

In this cut-throat competitive business world, sports play an indispensable role in everyone’s life. Some segments of society reckon that talented sports persons should have an enormous salary than individuals who work from other occupations; however, counterparts of society insist that it is unbiased. There are split opinions regarding this topic, though both have their pros and cons as per everyone’s perspective. Therefore, before commenting on my decision both opinions would be discussed.
The spending of governments has always been a debated issue in many countries. Some individuals argued that authorities should increase their spendings on common services establishments more than investing in cultural and artistic institutions, and I totally agree with this opinion.
Nowadays, tracking news reports and socializing with others through social platforms has become a norm. In my opinion, there are more advantages than disadvantages of applying technology.
In this modern era, the usage of the internet is increasing rapidly and people can get information easily compared to the past . I totally agreed with this view and I will discuss the positive benefits of this technology in the following paragraphs.
It is often said that the governments should consider a basic income for each resident to ensure they have adequate money to live. Even if they are employed. From my point of ,view, I completely agree with this idea.
In this fast-moving world, where people are walking hard from day to night in the blind run behind aggressive materialization so unable to cope with a healthy lifestyle, hence the government should offer a good quality of health service to all their public and it should not rely on a person’s remuneration. There are arguments on both sides, due to my own beliefs, I agree with this statement. Even these beliefs will be discussed in support of my personal stance in the following paragraphs.
Nowadays it is often believed that video games are a tool for entertainment or even for education. In contrast, some experts think that the method of spending leisure time has a negative influence on the community who are engaged in the exercise. In my point of view, this kind of relaxation has more positive sides than drawbacks.
