Everyone does not agree with the fact that students can build a better future by working together. Thus, some people strongly believe that students should be self-motivated to become better individuals than others. As a strong believer of the adage - "Together we stand divided we fall", I agree with the former statement. However, we will discuss both the perspectives in this essay.
It is true that a lot of students are trained to push themselves and compete to their classmates instead of studying in a group for mutual benefits. While I acknowledge that there are some advantages of competition, I believe that the drawbacks do outweigh the benefits.

It is true that most of the parents are pushing their kids to try hard to showcase themselves better than the others. Even some schools are doing the same. Although, this has some advantages like getting opportunities to study in top colleges, it has own disadvantages like those students will not get adopted to team work and they will lack leadership skills. This essay will discuss about both sides.

They can learn the value of the efforts needed to achieve something, gain self-confidence but there are also certain drawbacks that are to be taken into account.
Some schools tend to teach their students that the spirit of competition is more useful than the ability to cooperate. While I understand the importance of being competitive sometimes, I believe that excessively encouraging this kind of sense would have more drawbacks than benefits.
